Sample Set List        For a more complete list of Songs we do, see Song Lists

Here is an example of a set list from one of our gigs.

Click on any Underlined Song to listen to it recorded live during one of our gigs. NOTE: Some of these are full 3-4 minutes songs and may be slow to download before they start playing.

This set would take about 45 minutes, we routinely play for 3 to 4 hours – with a couple of short breaks.

  • Growling Ole Man, Grumbling Ole Woman / Ross’s Reel # 4
    • Two hot French-Canadian fiddle tunes.

  • San Antonio Rose
    • From Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, John does the vocals, and Richard adds some swing fiddle

  • Ashokan Farewell
    • The beautiful waltz written by Jay Unger and featured in the PBS series "The Civil War". We use the fiddle and the button accordion.

  • Gypsy Rover
    • We often play in Irish pubs (enough said). A good sing along.

  • Year of Jubilo / Sandy River Belle / Old Joe
    • Three American reels. The last one really swings.

  • Roseville Fair
    • From the writing of of Bill Staines; the great singer/songwriter from NH

  • Atholl Highlander’s Jig / Coleraine
    • A Scottish Jig followed by an Irish Jig.

  • Real Old Mountain Dew
    • Another pub song, this one has one of "those" Irish choruses. John knows all of the syllables.

  • Frosty Morning / Shoot the Turkey Buzzard
    • Two old-time banjo tunes.

  • Hand Me Down My Walkin' Cane
    • An old-time sing along, Jim leads it while playing the banjo.

  • Cliffs of Moorish Macedonia
    • We started with a beautiful Irish jig called "The Cliffs of Moher", then we put in a selection of Eastern European rhythms.

  • Jambalaya
    • At last … John gets to sing Hank Williams!

  • Katy Daley
    • This one comes from the Stanley Brothers. We stick in a bit of a fiddle tune. It is hot.
